Using Instagram for Style Inspiration

We’re huge fans of Instagram, even more so now that it allows for multiple accounts and we can get an official ACS account off the ground. We won’t go over the big list of who you should follow, but rather we want to show you ways to use Instagram to get style ideas and inspiration. It’s a gold mine for that.
Tap Those Hashtags

If you aren’t utilizing hashtags, you’re missing out on a huge archive of potentially good stuff. When you either tap or search for hashtags (like #menswear, #mensstyle, etc.) you’re thrown into an rabbit hole of style. Sift through to find ideas, and like things that you… well, like. This will come in handy later.
If you’re following any of our recommended people on Instagram for style, you’ll notice that many of them throw in a handful of hashtags for each post. Follow those hashtags to find more style. And if there is any certain type of clothing or style you’re looking for, there’s a good chance that if you search for the hashtag of it (like #denim or #sneakers), you’ll get what you’re looking for.
Update (1/5/18): Instagram now allows you to follow hashtags, to then be included in your stream (but just the highlights). So if you’re finding good stuff from a particular hashtag, then give it a follow.
Finding New Brands

We’re pretty sure that you have at least a couple brands that you really like. Find them, and follow them. Sometimes you’ll find out about deals/sales they’re having. But aside from the brands you already know and love, Instagram is the perfect platform for finding new and emerging brands.
If you’re following a lot of style guys, they often tag their pic of the brands they’re wearing. We almost always check out some of those brands, and have bought stuff we’ve been into. When you find those brands, follow them and keep up with what they’re doing.
